Felt: Fabric felt used in paper forming and conveying in the paper industry.

Dry blankets can also be replaced by canvas or breathable fabrics woven from polyester filaments.


Papermaking blankets are divided into two types: woven and knitted. Woven papermaking blankets are made of wool and nylon staple fiber blended yarns with a blending ratio of about 75:25.


The manufacturing method of needle-punched papermaking felt is to first comb 50% wool and 50% nylon staple fiber or 100% nylon staple fiber into a fiber web, overlap multiple layers, and then use a barbed steel needle to stab the fiber web to the pre-woven fabric. The fault in the operation of the blanket


Felt, forming wire and dry felt are the three most valuable items in paper production.


The quality of the felt has a great impact on the broken ends of the paper machine, the downtime and the unit cost of the finished product.


Therefore, in actual production, the blanket should be used as well as possible. In addition to reasonable selection, normal washing, and careful inspection before putting on the machine, it should also reduce the failures that are more likely to occur in use.


The deviation of the blanket


There are many reasons for the deviation of the blanket, which are generally caused by the following reasons: 1) The regulator that is automatically calibrated by the instrument fails; 2) The touch palm touches the guide roller or a false signal occurs on the frame, causing the corrector to malfunction; 3 ) One side of the felt is loose and the other is tight, and the standard line is seriously skewed, which is generally caused by the unilateral loosening of the tension roller; 4) A certain guide roller in the felt circle is skewed; 5) One end of a certain guide roller is wrapped around The pulp or felt edge is damaged and wrapped around the rolls more, causing inconsistent linear speed; 6) The two press rolls in the nip are not equal in contact at both ends, etc.


In actual production, attention should be paid to aligning the guide rollers and press rollers so that they are parallel to each other, paying attention to the unilateral adjustment of the felt tensioning roller, and checking the felt corrector frequently.


Blanket pleating: Except for the unevenness of the blanket, the pleating in the middle and the excessive deviation of the blanket, which are pleated on the edge of the blanket or the whole blanket.


There are several possible situations as follows: 1) Blanket folds. If the edge width of the blanket deviates slightly, it is easy to touch the bearing of the blanket roller and become pleated. Just tear off a portion of the blanket and adjust the corrector to center the blanket. 2) If the felt is pleated in the middle, the standard line may be too skewed due to operation and other reasons; the guide roller is entangled with pulp or there are too many sundries, and the wet paper will easily cause the felt to be pleated in the middle. 3) The pleating in the center of the blanket may be caused by the reverse installation of the blanket roll; a certain roller does not rotate due to a fault, which may also easily cause the blanket to be pleated in the middle.


Generally, if the felt is found to be pleated, it should be stopped immediately for inspection, and the press roll should be lifted at the same time. After loosening the felt, artificially flatten the felt, find out the cause, and deal with it. For paper machine felts with higher linear pressure, it is extremely difficult to flatten and use once pleated, and most of them are crushed. Therefore, special attention should be paid to inspection and maintenance during use.


Blanket pressure loss: In addition to the edge drop, running edge, and pleating of the thread threading felt mentioned above, the pressure loss of the felt may also have the following reasons: too much sticky pulp in the loop of the felt, and the loop is dropped due to maintenance or the frame. The lower parts enter the nip; pulp balls or felt wool balls on the frame fall into the felt ring, hard impurities brought by the wire part; the pressure of the press roll is very uneven; or caused by welding and other reasons. Be careful of damage to the blanket caused.


Generally speaking, if there is a big hole in the blanket, you should consider replacing it.


If the hole in the blanket is small and the quality of the blanket itself is still good, the method of sewing and repairing can be used for temporary treatment to maintain production.
