High viscosity lubricating oil shall be used for low-speed movement and low viscosity lubricating oil shall be used for high-speed movement. Load size: the greater the load of the moving pair, the higher the viscosity of the lubricating oil and the better the oil. Motion state: for mechanisms that often start, reverse and stop, high viscosity lubricating oil shall be selected. Operating temperature: when the ambient temperature is low, the lubricating oil with low viscosity and high permeability shall be selected, while at higher temperature, the opposite lubricating oil shall be selected. Surrounding environment: consider whether the water and humidity are serious, how much dust is there, whether there is toxic gas and other factors.

Clearance: the smaller the clearance of the moving pair, the lower the viscosity of the lubricating oil.

Hardness: the motion pair with high friction surface hardness shall use lubricating oil with low viscosity and sufficient oil.

Surface accuracy: the higher the surface accuracy of the moving pair, the lower the viscosity of the lubricating oil.

Lubrication method: high viscosity lubricating oil shall be used for manual refueling device, and antioxidant additives shall be used for splash and oil mist lubrication system.
