Disc Thickener
Application:
Disc thickener is mainly used for washing and thickening pulp in pulping and papermaking process. It dewater by gravity through level difference between pulp out of disc wire and white water in the disc. The pulp at the consistency of 0.8%~1.2% enters into the vat and then is attached to disc sector. The white water in the disc flows into the ends of the hollow shaft through slot and then discharges out. Pulp attached on disc sector is peeled off by high-pressure water. The thickened pulp at the consistency of 3%-6% flows over the plate of adjusting valve into outlet vat where it is discharged out. The outlet consistency and capacity can be regulated by adjusting the rotating speed of the main shaft.

Higher efficiency and less space required.
Disc sector is made of stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance.
Thanks to the scallop structure of the disc sector, the filtration area is large, which allows filtrating large amount of white water when operating.
The consistency of the white water filtrated by it is lower than that filtrated by the common cylinder wire thickener.
